Optimize your face with a Morpheus8 procedure in Beverly Hills

Morpheus8 is a microneedling procedure that combines traditional microneedling with radiofrequency energy to improve and enhance the appearance of the skin. It delivers the RF energy deep into the dermis, triggering the formation of new collagen fibers. The tone and texture of this new skin tissue are much more consistent, leaving your skin looking fully rejuvenated and youthful.

The Morpheus8 process is one of the most cutting-edge techniques for skin tightening and toning. Morpheus8 is a brilliant option for face rejuvenation since it can handle many corrections at once.

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure that uses radiofrequency and microneedling to reach deep beneath the skin and tighten, smooth, or shape the face and body.

Traditional microneedling procedures or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) use tiny needles to create micro-channels that your body naturally repairs by producing new collagen. RF microneedling with Morpheus8 combines traditional microneedling with radio frequency-generated heat to tighten your skin and shape the fat beneath. It makes it a much more effective and efficient rejuvenation process.

Morpheus8 remodels collagen and coagulates adipose tissue using a subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD). It promotes transformation after the first treatment. A course of two to four treatments spaced 4-12 weeks apart is recommended for maximum results.

How the Procedure Works

Treatment times vary for each patient. Most sessions are 30 minutes long, though some treatment times may be longer depending on the severity of the treatment areas. Customers interested in transforming the appearance of their skin should consider the following information:

Before & Preparation

  • Do not wear makeup on the day of treatment.
  • Excess hair may need to be shaved the night prior.
  • Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks before treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)
  •  Avoid sun-tanning or self-tanners four weeks before treatment—including spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, or direct sun exposure.
  • Notify the clinic of any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment.
  • A history of herpes or cold sores may require an antiviral prescription before treatment.
  • Skin types IV-VI or Skin Types I-IV with active tan may require the usage of a Pigment Control Cream 6 weeks before treatment. Skin Types I-IV with no active tan should use a Pigment Control Cream 2+ weeks before treatment. Stop at least 48 hours before Morpheus8 treatment to minimize the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
  • A week before your procedure, stop taking: aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E, and other essential fatty acids. Also, avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol a few days before your treatment. If you must take pain medication, Tylenol is your best choice.

During the Procedure

  • Your provider will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area.
  • Your provider will press the handheld device into the area after the topical numbing cream takes effect, allowing the tiny microneedles to perforate the skin.
  • Once the microneedles reach optimal depth, they emit radiofrequency (RF) waves. The heat from these waves penetrates deep into the dermal skin layer, tightening the skin and adipose tissue.
  • The procedure–numbing and preparations included–doesn’t take over two hours.

Aftercare & Recovery

  • CARE
    • Cool the treatment area for 10-20 minutes for comfort using a fan or A/C. DO NOT ICE unless otherwise specified.
  • CLEAN
    • Keep the treated area(s) clean to prevent infection.
    • Use a soothing cleanser or face wash with lukewarm water to cleanse the treated area and gently pat dry using clean hands.
    • Do not use scrubs or exfoliates.
  • HYDRATE
    • Apply gentle moisturizers or healing ointments after each treatment and apply regularly.
  • PROTECT
    • Use a high-factor sunscreen (at least 30 SPF). Protect the treated area from over-exposure to sunlight for at least one month after your treatment(s), starting 24 hours post-treatment.
  • MAKE-UP
    • You may apply makeup two days after treatment with clean applicators.
  • WHAT TO AVOID (DONT’S)
    • Skin irritants- Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.
    • Excessive tanning of any sort (sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial tanning lotions) is not allowed in the treated areas throughout the treatment.
    • Avoid exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environments are harmful, rife with bacteria, and may cause adverse reactions.
    • Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
  • KEEP IN MIND
    • Tiny scabs may appear after 1-3 days and stay for several days following the treatment. The scabs should not be touched or scratched—allow scabbing to flake off naturally.
    • Blisters are rare, but when they occur, they may be treated with a prescribed antibiotic ointment or burn treatment cream as per the provider's discretion.
    • Prophylactic antiviral therapy should be continued for patients with a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex) when treating around the mouth.
    • The patient is to contact the provider if there is any sign of infection, excessive swelling, redness, undue pain, or any other unusual symptom.

A full completion of a Morpheus8 treatment will last one year. However, maintenance treatments will help achieve the longest-lasting results (3-5 years).

RealSelf members who reviewed their Morpheus8 treatment give it a 74% Worth It Rating. Customers reported benefits like less noticeable fine lines and wrinkles, less sun damage, faded acne scars, and firmer skin, with very little downtime.

Morpheus8 is similar to a facelift and can reduce sagging around your neck, chin, and jowls, along with removing fat from other areas.

Morpheus8 is not painful. A topical numbing cream helps reduce discomfort during the treatment. Patients often describe it as very tolerable.

Most of the time, patients require one to three appointments to achieve desired results. Effects are immediately noticeable after a single treatment, but multiple sessions will help prolong and enhance overall effects.

Swelling after a Morpheus8 treatment can last up to 2 days. This effect typically subsides within 24 hours.
