How the Procedure Works

Before & Preparation

Your clinician may instruct you to avoid over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen or naproxen for 1-2 weeks before treatment.
Discontinue using blood-thinning herbs or supplements at least one week before treatment.
Discuss stopping any blood-thinning prescription medications like Coumadin with your provider.

During the Procedure

The procedure begins with an experienced provider taking a blood sample and processing it in a centrifuge to separate the sample’s components. PRP is extracted, concentrated, and isolated for use.
Before injections, your scalp is numbed with a chiller cap or injectable anesthetic. For most patients, this eliminates all pain. However, additional pain management options are available to ensure your comfort.
Your appointment will last about 30 minutes, with injections taking only a few minutes.
You can immediately return to work or other regular activities.

Aftercare & Recovery

Wait at least six hours before using any hair products.
Avoid applying heat or cold to the site for 3-6 days afterward, including using saunas, pools, or steam rooms.
Avoid exercise, alcohol, caffeine, and cigarettes for three days afterward.
