Threads Beverly Hills FAQs

Are threads worth it?

It really depends on what treatments you have available nearby to address your concerns. There are better devices and procedures out there for most people. But if threads are all that are available in your area, then they may work temporarily to give you a more lifted appearance. PDO threads are a minimally invasive method to give the face a lifted appearance and boost collagen and elastin levels. Studies by the National Institute of Health (NIH) affirm that thread lifts yield a 90% success rate in lifting and shaping facial tissues temporarily.

What is the downside of a thread lift?

A thread lift may not be effective for patients with substantial skin laxity and may dimple or show with facial movements in those patients with thin skin.. Side effects of thread lifts may include bruising, thread extrusion, thread breakage, a tingling sensation, indentation, fever, or infection. However, side effects are very minimal when applied by an experienced practitioner.

How long do body threads last?

Thread lifts typically last up to 12 and 18 months, usually less time, however. However, the duration of results depends on the patient's age, skin type, lifestyle, and the rate at which the body absorbs the sutures.

Are threads good for your face?

Yes! The PDO threads inserted during a thread lift consist of an absorbable monofilament that lifts and rejuvenates sagging skin. These unique absorbable threads stimulate natural collagen and elastin production at the treatment area(s), promoting a more youthful look. While collagen levels do increase with threads, the lifting effect may not be as prolonged.

How long do threads in the face last?

A PDO thread lift typically lasts 2-6 months or longer. You can always schedule a maintenance session once the sutures absorb completely and the optimal effects wear off.

Does a thread lift hurt?

Not at all! Your practitioner will apply local anesthesia before inserting the threads to minimize pain or discomfort during treatment. It is common to experience mild discomfort and swelling once the numbing wears off.

What age should you get a thread lift?

The ideal age for a thread lift is the late 30s to early 50s. Patients above 55 years of age or those with significant skin laxity may benefit more from FaceTite or V-Lyft facelift surgery. PDO threads work best for those with mild-moderate skin laxity.

How do you sleep after a thread lift?

You will need to sleep on your back with your head on a pillow to avoid putting pressure on your face. Elevating your head also minimizes swelling post-operation. We recommend the enVy pillow available on TheSkinSpot.com

Can thread lift damage nerves?

There have been isolated cases of incomplete facial paralysis, weakened eyebrows, and facial nerve damage. A study in the Journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons states that five individuals (2.6% of people included in the study) experienced this rare side effect.

Is PDO Thread Better than Botox?

Botox is excellent for treating fine lines and preventing wrinkles from forming in the future. PDO threads are a great non-surgical method to lift mildly sagging skin and promote collagen production, in the right patient. You can use them in combination to optimize the anti-aging effects.
