Before & Preparation
- Protect your skin from sun exposure two weeks before and after your procedure using a full-spectrum sunscreen of SPF30 or greater.
- Do not use Retin-A or Retinol products in the treatment area for three days before and after your procedure.
- Avoid tweezing, waxing, threading, chemical hair removal, or electrolysis for four weeks before your treatment.
- Shave the area to be treated the day before your procedure.
- Cleanse your skin of any lotions, moisturizers, perfumes, or makeup the day of your procedure.
During the Procedure
- Ensure that the treated area is shaved and free of lotions, perfumes, moisturizers, or makeup.
- Numbing creams or anesthetics are unnecessary for this procedure but can be provided.
- Your provider will select the appropriate application tip and run the device over the treated area in a smooth motion.
- You may experience a warming sensation, but the cooling technology of the Alma Soprano ICE Platinum device prevents any burning, blistering, or discomfort during the procedure.
- Smaller areas, such as the upper lip, will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Larger areas, such as the back or legs, can take up to 45 minutes to complete.
Aftercare & Recovery
- You may apply lotion, makeup, and sunscreen after the procedure if it does not irritate the skin.
- Minor redness or swelling may occur after your procedure. These effects typically subside within 1-2 hours.
- Do not scratch, rub, or pick at the treated area. Allow it to heal on its own.
- Do not scrub the treated area.
- If scabbing occurs: avoid shaving the area until they heal.

- You may use Tylenol, aspirin, or ibuprofen to ease any discomfort.
- If post-treatment swelling occurs: avoid swimming, sports, or strenuous exercise for three days after treatment.
- Avoid tweezing, waxing, chemical hair removal, or bleaching during the entire course of your treatment, as these can decrease your chances of hair growth reduction.
- Based on your pre-determined treatment plan, follow-up treatments every 4 to 6 weeks are necessary until completion.
