How Long Will Results Last?

How the Procedure Works
The V-Lyft technique is highly customizable to suit each individual’s specific facial needs. Patients must know what to expect before, during, and after surgery to ensure a comfortable process from start to finish.
Before & Preparation
- Have a consultation to discuss medical history, results, and if any other facial treatments should be done before surgery to ensure the best outcome.
- Eat a healthy, nutrient-rich diet leading up to surgery.
- Eliminate drinking alcohol for at least one week before surgery.
- Avoid smoking as it severely eliminates blood flow to the skin, which can result in poor wound healing.
- On the day of the procedure, what you eat or don't eat depends on if your surgery is awake or asleep. If using general anesthesia, you may not eat or drink anything after midnight unless specifically told otherwise by your anesthesiologist.
During the Procedure
- General anesthesia will be administered.
- Your surgeon will make incisions in front and behind the ear to hide any subsequent scarring within the folds of your ear.
- This incision will occasionally extend into the scalp (depending on your hairline and surgical plan of action).
- Once the incisions are made, the muscles and underlying soft tissue will be lifted and repositioned.
- Once the deep layers of the face are in a more youthful position, the skin will be re-draped over your new facial foundation while eliminating any excess.
- The V-Lyft delivers a much longer-lasting result than a typical facelift by addressing the deep layers in conjunction with the surface.
Aftercare & Recovery
- Bruising and swelling are to be expected.
- Avoid bending over or lifting heavy items for at least one week.
- Avoid hitting or bumping your face, head, and neck.
- Sleep on your back with your head elevated with one or two pillows.
- Follow your post-operative instructions on how to care for your incision to avoid infection.
- All patients are required to go to aftercare after a V-Lyft surgery for optimal results
- Patients are required to obtain lymphatic massage and hyperbaric oxygen treatments.

Most patients recover within four to six weeks. However, it can take up to six months for the final results to appear.
You should sleep on your back with your head elevated on one or two pillows for at least one-week post-procedure. Avoid sleeping on your side for at least two weeks.
Walking is the best exercise you can do after a facelift. It will promote blood circulation, which will ultimately help you during the recovery process.
