How Long Will Results Last?
The follicles harvested from the donor area are considered permanent and are resistant to genetic hair loss. How The Procedure Works
The NeoGraft hair restoration device consists of an automated handpiece used to extract hair follicles from a donor site, usually on the back of the scalp. The duration of the procedure varies but typically lasts 4 to 10 hours, depending on the number of grafts.
Before & Preparation
- Your provider will shave the donor site
- You will receive local anesthesia to your scalp to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
During the Procedure
- Your provider will use the NeoGraft device to apply pneumonic suction pressure on your scalp to extract donor hair follicles. You might experience slight discomfort.
- Your hairline will be designed by creating recipient sites using a fine needle or customized blade.
- Subsequently, your provider will implant your hair follicles into the desired recipient areas of the scalp.
- Your provider will thoroughly rinse the treatment areas and apply dressings to minimize bleeding.
- The procedure typically lasts 4 to 10 hours.
Aftercare & Recovery
- Most patients experience minimal discomfort after the procedure.
- Patients may encounter mild drainage from the site the day after treatment. However, this will resolve.
- Avoid strenuous activities for two weeks to prevent newly implanted graft damage and dislodgement.
- The grafts may be tender and slightly raised during the first week following the procedure.
- Scabbing is common after your procedure which should resolve within two weeks.
- Your grafted hair will eventually fall out within approximately two weeks after your procedure and the new follicles will start growing within 2-3 months.
