How the Procedure Works
The Volbella injection procedure is a straightforward, in-office procedure. The process begins with a consultation with one of our experienced practitioners.
Before & Preparation
- Consult your practitioner to explore your goals and determine if Volbella is right for you.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages 24 hours before your treatment to prevent extra bruising.
- Stop over-the-counter blood thinners like Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Ginkgo Biloba, etc., for one week before the procedure.
During the Procedure
- Our well-trained experts will inject the Volbella gel into the lips and around its borders.
- The injector may gently massage your lips to ensure it spreads and settles well.
- Because the needle is ultra slim and Volbella contains Lidocaine, the procedure is minimally painful. You may feel a sharp prick during needle insertion.
- Treatment takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
Aftercare & Recovery
- Stay upright for about 4 hours after treatment.
- Apply an ice pack to help with swelling.
- You can immediately return to regular activities post-treatment.

Yes, you can. It is normal to bruise after lip filler injections. Topical Arnica or Arnica tablets can help reduce bruising, inflammation, and swelling.
Volbella can be partially or completely removed with the enzyme hyaluronidase. When the enzyme is injected, it dissolves the hyaluronic acid filler to restore its original appearance.
