Cellfina Procedure & Recovery
Cellfina is performed as an out-patient procedure in our Beverly Hills office. First, Dr. Nazarian will mark the cellulite dimples in your treatment area. Next, a local anesthetic will be applied to completely numb the area. Cellfina is a hand-held device that contains a motorized micro-scalpel. The machine creates a vacuum that sucks up the skin in your treatment area. The scalpel, which is about the size of a needle, then severs the vertical bands of connective tissue that are the root cause of your cellulite. Once these tight bands are released, you will see visibly smoother skin in about 3 days and the appearance will actually continue to improve for 3 months.
Other than bruising, there is really no downtime associated with Cellfina. You can return to your normal activities immediately although Dr. Nazarian does recommend that you take it easy for the first 24 hours. You can expect to be sore after your Cellfina procedure. This is normal and will resolve in a couple of days. You will also have some post procedure bruising. In the Cellfina studies, 9 out of 10 people had complete resolution of bruising within 1 month. The majority of the bruising is gone in 2 weeks. We do recommend that you take our medical-grade Arnica/Bromelain/Vitamin K pills before and after your procedure. They are available for purchase in the office or by phone.
