Hyaluronic Acid Benefits

This type of filler can provide a boost in volume, structure, and shape. Unlike other types of lip fillers, Hyaluronic acid has specific advantages such as:
  • Lip Volume Control: Your physician will be able to dictate the amount of filler that is injected and how much volume is added.
  • Decreased bruising: Other dermal fillers tend to produce more bruising than Hyaluronic acid.
  • Low chance for an allergic reaction: Hyaluronic acid is similar to compounds found in the body, so you have a lessened chance of experiencing allergic reactions.
  • Imperfections easily dissolve: Lumps and bumps are common in lip fillers, but using this type allows them to dissolve with ease.
  • Results that last: While the results are not permanent, they may last up to 12 months depending on the type of hyaluronic acid you receive.

Am I A Good Candidate?

If you want fuller lips, have reasonable expectations, and are in good health, you’re likely a good candidate for this procedure. Lip augmentation can change mouth shape, facial structure, and the look of your smile. You may want to consider this procedure if:
  • You feel your smile is too “toothy” or “gummy”
  • When you smile, your lips disappear or become very thin
  • You feel your lips or smile is uneven
  • You have noticed lip deflation over the years
If you have thin or undefined lips due to genetics or aging and would prefer a fuller look, lip augmentation may be for you.

Lip Implant Augmentation

In lip implants, the synthetic material will be inserted using a needle through small incisions, normally made at the corner of the lips. You may experience some bleeding or swelling. Lip implants do not absorb like fillers do, which may give more permanent results. The infection rate is higher with lip implants and they do have the risk of shifting over time.  Fat Transfer to the Lips Fat will be harvested from a donor site to be injected into the lips. The procedure takes around 90 minutes to perform and provides natural-looking results. Lips may stay plump for up to five years. The procedure may have to be repeated to achieve optimal results.  Lip Threads This treatment has been approved by the FDA and will involve threads passing through the skin to outline the lips. It can enhance the appearance of the Cupid’s bow by making it more defined. The threads are made from poly-L-lactic acid, also known as PLLA. This is a biocompatible synthetic substance. Threading may last for up to 12 months.

Frequently
Asked Questions

How Much Does Lip Augmentation Cost?

Lip Augmentation cost can vary based on the location of your provider, their experience level, the type of filler chosen, and specific patient needs. This price can vary from $500 to $1000, with an average of around $600.

Is Lip Augmentation Permanent?

Lip fillers, like Juvéderm or Restylane, are only semi-permanent. These fillers may last up to 12 months. Results vary among filler types and augmentation methods. Lip filler does tend to dissolve faster than other facial areas because of the vast blood supply to the lips and more movement.

Do Lip Fillers Have Long Term Side Effects?

As with anything, excessive use of lip fillers may cause some issues. Getting lip fillers too frequently may result in an overstretching of the lip, which can lead to increased or exacerbated wrinkling of the upper lip over time

What Is The Best Lip Filler?

There are several different types of lip fillers on the market today, each with their own merits. The best ones are ones that use Hyaluronic acid, which is a compound found in the body. At Nazarian Plastic Surgery we use a variety of fillers including the Juvéderm and Restylane families.

Do Lip Fillers Change Your Smile?

After getting lip fillers, your smile will be altered as your lips will have a more voluminous look. This procedure may be combined with a neurotoxin to help fix your smile if you feel it is “too toothy”. For a fuller smile, inquire about injection sites, such as fine lines and the parentheses lines around the side of the mouth.

How Many Syringes Do I Need For Full Lips?

One syringe contains 1.0 cc of filler which can be applied to one region of the lip. Typically, one syringe is enough, and multiple treatments may be recommended. More than two syringes are not administered at a time.

How Long Will My Lips Be Sore After Getting Fillers?

Directly following treatment, your lips may be a bit sore, and some localized swelling may develop. This swelling should disappear within a day or two. If it’s your first time, you may experience some slight pain from the swelling, but subsequent treatments will allow you to build a tolerance to the minor discomfort.
