Back Liposuction procedure is ideal for reducing the fat that has accumulated in their upper or lower back, achieving a smoother and more proportionate appearance.
Back Liposuction Procedure and Results
Back liposuction plastic surgery procedure is designed to remove excess fat in the upper and lower back that causes bulges and lumps in the back. With back liposuction, patients experience a slimmer body and shape and find that they fit better on their clothes. Fat in the back area cannot easily be eliminated, even with consistent exercise and proper diet.
With back liposuction procedure, a small thin tube called cannula is gently inserted into the subcutaneous fat layer in multiple angels of the back to suction the excess fat out of the body for a more consistent and natural-looking results. Back liposuction is considered an out-patient procedure and only local anesthetic is required. New technology and techniques have made back liposuction much safer, easier and less painful for patients. Depending on the amount of fat to be removed, back liposuction procedure can vary from patient to patient. After the procedure, the back is firmly wrapped with a girdle or a compression garment to help reduce swelling, bruising and pain for around three to four weeks. Bruising may last anywhere between a week to 10 days. Results of back liposuction are not immediate and it may take months to see the outcome or nw contour of your body after the swelling goes down.

Back Liposuction FAQ
The average cost of liposuction is $4000-8000 per area. The price will vary by a plastic surgeon, geographic location, and the complexity of the procedure. Surgeons with the highest qualifications and reputation charge more than other plastic surgeons. Your primary concern should be finding a board-certified plastic surgeon with years of experience performing back liposuction on patients.
Yes, you can get liposuction on your back. Back liposuction is used to eliminate back rolls, fatty deposits, or bulges around the bra area. Some patients realize that they cannot lose back fat despite diet and exercise. They may choose to have back liposuction to feel more confident about their bodies.
First, the treatment area is numbed or you are given general anesthesia. Next, a thin tube (called a cannula) is inserted into small incisions in the back. The plastic surgeon uses the cannula to loosen excess fat. The fat is then suctioned from the back with a surgical vacuum or syringe that is connected to the cannula.
Lipo is not painful because you are placed under anesthesia during the procedure. After the procedure, you will experience pain. You will also experience pain during the recovery period. It’s also common to have swelling, numbness, bruising, and soreness after liposuction. Liposuction is a serious surgery, so it’s important to follow your doctor’s advice in order to heal properly.
Liposuction is not specifically designed for weight loss. Instead, it is used to improve the shape of your body. This is done by removing stubborn pockets of fat. Surgeons follow guidelines that state no more than 11 pounds should be extracted from any patient at one time.
You are a candidate for liposuction if you are close to your ideal body weight, are not a smoker, have realistic expectations when it comes to cosmetic surgeries, and have not had diet and exercise work for you. You should have firm, elastic skin and good muscle tone. Scheduling a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in liposuction will help you discover if you’re a good candidate for this procedure.
Lipo is permanent. This is because fat cells are removed from the portion of the body receiving liposuction. That being said, you can gain weight again. With weight gain, the remaining fat cells in other parts of your body can expand. In order to maintain results, eat a nutritious diet. Focus on consuming fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy, lean protein, and whole grains. If you combine a healthy diet with regular exercise, you are less likely to gain weight and more likely to maintain your results.
You should consider liposuction if you struggle with fat deposits in the back that do not respond to diet or exercise. Some of us are genetically predisposed to carry fat in certain areas of our bodies. No matter how hard we work out, it seems like an uphill battle. The bulges, back rolls, and fatty lumps refuse to go away. Liposuction may be the way to contour your back and eliminate stubborn pockets of fat.
All surgical procedures come with the risk of complications. Liposuction is no different. There may be complications from anesthesia (although some lipo procedures can be done awake under local), bruising, swelling, or infection. These are just a few of the risks involved with liposuction. That’s why it’s so important to select a qualified plastic surgeon to perform your liposuction procedure.
No, back liposuction is not usually covered by health insurance. It’s considered a cosmetic procedure, meaning it isn’t medically necessary. Contact your health insurance company to determine if it will pay for your procedure. Discuss costs and payment options with your plastic surgeon. You should also find out who is responsible for paying in case of complications with the surgery.

What Our Clients Say About Us
Dr.Sheila Nazarian is the best plastic surgeon overall. I have never met such a nice, professsional and humble doctor like her.I had breast augmentation 5 days ago and I’m feeling great.Wow what a great experience with Dr . Nazarian. She is wonderful and very caring thru the whole process. Thanks Dr.for changing my appearance and helping me with every question I had. I totally recommend her to anyone who is looking for an excellent Dr. If I would of known about her before, I would of done this procedure years ago. This is my first time writing a review, but I had to share this experience because I know there are people looking for a good Dr they can trust. I am truly very happy with Dr . Nazarian. Again thank you very much for doing such a great job.
Dr. Nazarian is the a 5 star plastic surgeon! I had a growing scalp mass above my left ear, kinda like a cyst, she told me it was called lipoma. Anyway she removed the cyst in her office even when I was told by other doctors that it had to be done at a hospital which is more cost full and inconvenient for your wallet. She’s a great doctor and definitely recommend anyone to visit her office, her receptionist is on point and is very kind, helpful, and welcoming when visiting the office or calling about your appointment.
Besides being a great surgeon, Dr Nazarian carries a line for PREGNANT women called Spa Momma which is made-in-the-USA with no lead, phthalates, formaldehyde, propylene glycol, and no pregnancy-contraindicated aromatherapy oils!!!!!! I am obsessed with the body oil and the body scrub! I was having some major itching issues and I tried everything but nothing really helped. Then I tried the itchies body oil and it was the first relief I had had in months and I have no stretch marks!!!!!!!! Dr Nazarian is so up to date and science based and is willing to take time and help you out no matter what you issue is!!! I love her professionalism and recommend 110%!
