CoolSculpting® FAQ

Yes, CoolSculpting® actually works for elimination of fat without surgery, no injections and zero downtime. Furthermore, it is FDA approved. However, it is not ideal for everyone. There are patients who are ideal candidates for CoolSculpting® and there are patients who we find can benefit more with liposuction treatment. The best way to determine if CoolSculpting® is right for you is to have a consultation with a Beverly Hills CoolSculpting® specialist.
CoolSculpting® freezes your fat, while preserving surrounding tissues, and then gradually and naturally eliminated from the body. This dead fat cell elimination process rely on a healthy lymphatic system.

One CoolSculpting® treatment takes one hour per area (about the size of a hand) treated, which is about the same time you might spend at the gym. Therefore, each flank or love-handle would be considered one area, and the lower abdomen is typically considered two areas. You can treat more than one area at a single office visit, but only one area at a time.

Every patient is different. We have patients who have reported seeing changes as early as a few weeks after their initial CoolSculpting® treatment. Full results may take up to four months.

Most of our patients are pleased with the results after a single Coolsculpting® treatment. However, we do have some patients who require two treatments to three treatments for optimal results.

CoolSculpting® is generally painless. During treatment, patients feel some pulling on the area to be treated as it enters the hand piece. Intense cooling and numbing sensation may be felt after a few minutes into the treatment. Following the procedure, the area treated where fat has been crystallized is massaged. Most of our patients tolerate this without any problem, while others find it sa little uncomfortable. On rare occasions, we have patients who cite tingling sensation and some discomfort several days following a CoolSculpting® treatment. Although this is not a typical response, we feel it is very important to be prepared for this event.
At Nazarian Plastic Surgery, we provide a thorough consultation to ensure our patients are healthy and appropriate candidates Coolsculpting®. The most common side effect could be Coolsculpting® not being effective. That is why we carefully assess our patients if they are good candidates for Coolsculpting®.
No. There are patients who are good candidates for CoolSculpting® for a number of reasons, typically the desire to have fat removed without down time, prefer to have a CoolSculpting treatment rather than liposuction. There are other patients who require liposuction in order to achieve desired results.

Tummy Tuck FAQ

Tummy tuck, or Abdominoplasty, is a plastic surgery procedure that eliminates excess fatty skin, tightens and reconstructs the abdominal wall. This procedure is commonly performed as part of body contouring after pregnancy or moderate to severe weight gain in which cases the muscles separate.
Yes, it is a safe procedure if performed by a highly experienced board certified plastic surgeon.
Every patient is different and so is the recovery period. The amount of dissection, the tightness of the closure, the need to tighten the muscles and to what degree may all influence post-op recovery. However, most of our patients are able to resume most activities by 2 weeks and are able to stand straight within a few days. Patients who work from home can probably do so after the first week. Dr. Nazarian will not allow submersion in water (bathtub, pool, or ocean) for 6 weeks but showering a couple days after surgery is recommended. Also, heavy lifting is restricted for 6 weeks to lifting nothing heavier than a gallon of milk or 5 pounds.
