Optimize your looks with a Microneedling RF in Beverly Hills

RF Microneedling, otherwise known as microneedling radiofrequency, is a highly efficient, non-surgical procedure that rejuvenates the skin by combining radiofrequency with standard microneedling. This procedure works more effectively than traditional microneedling, reducing the appearance of common skin issues such as laxity, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars.

Ultrathin needles create controlled micro-wounds while emitting RF waves into the deeper layers of the skin. The radiofrequency waves expedite the body’s natural healing process, resulting in tighter and smoother-looking skin in a fraction of the time.

What is a RF Microneedling?

RF Microneedling combines radiofrequency waves with standard microneedling to enhance skin restoration effects. A microneedling radiofrequency device composed of thin needles is placed over the desired area. The needles emit RF waves, which heat the deep layers of the skin, causing a higher degree of controlled injury to rejuvenate the location in less time than with standard microneedling.

The RF waves bypass the skin's most superficial and sensitive layer, the epidermis. Exposure to this high-intensity energy accelerates the self-healing process and induces more collagen growth. Patients can expect some discomfort during the procedure, a short downtime, and long-lasting results in less than two to eight treatments (depending on the device and the severity of the problem being treated).

How the Procedure Works

Microneedling RF uses medical needles and radiofrequency waves to improve the skin. The final results of this procedure heavily rely on preparation, the credentials of who performs the surgery, and proper aftercare.

Before & Preparation

  • Your provider will schedule a preliminary consultation to assess the skin and review your medical history.
  • Patients must discontinue certain medications such as Accutane for at least six months. Avoid topical creams such as Retin A for 3-5 days before treatment.
  • Avoid skin resurfacing and hair removal treatments 5-7 before your procedure.

During the Procedure

  • The patient’s skin is disinfected with alcohol to avoid infection.
  • Your provider will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area one hour before the procedure.
  • Once the area is numb, your provider will apply the microneedling device to the skin for 30-45 minutes.
  • RF waves are emitted from the microneedles stimulating the body’s natural healing process.
  • Your provider may apply a growth solution to the treated area to assist with cellular regeneration.
  • At the end of the treatment, your provider may apply a soothing solution or a mask.

Aftercare & Recovery

  • There is no downtime involved with this procedure.
  • Patients can expect mild swelling, redness, or fatigue immediately after treatment.
  • Patients may apply an ice pack to the treated area to help reduce any post-treatment pain or swelling.
  • Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours.
  • Include SPF sunscreen in your daily skincare routine but do not apply any the day of your treatment as it may cause break outs.
  • Avoid using harsh cleansers or exfoliants.
  • Use all medications as directed by your provider.
  • Patients may undergo additional treatments every four to six weeks for optimal effects.

Microneedling with RF effectively treats skin concerns such as acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage, hyperhidrosis, and uneven tone and texture. It is more effective than Botox and offers skin tightening benefits.

Microneedling with RF uses electric-infused microneedles to stimulate the body's natural healing process. The procedure repairs common skin concerns and signs of aging by promoting increased collagen production.

The main distinctions between the two procedures are depth and effectiveness. In a standard microneedling treatment, microneedles (0.25mm-2.5mm) are used on their own to rejuvenate the skin. In a microneedling RF treatment, the needles (3.5mm-4.0mm) emit radio frequency waves to amplify the healing process, providing a faster and more effective skin renewal outcome.

Typically, the results from microneedling with RF last up to a year. However, patients should get treatments once every four to six weeks to maintain their results. Results can last indefinitely with consistent treatments.

Typically, the patient’s face after a microneedling RF treatment appears red and irritated, like a sunburn, however, it is only temporary and should begin to fade as it heals in the following 48 hours.

The ideal candidate for microneedling RF is anyone looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, reduce post-acne marks or stretch marks, or tighten lax skin.
