Optimize your Look with Dermal Filler Injections in Beverly Hills

Dermal Fillers are non-surgical cosmetic treatments to help diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. Dermal fillers include a range of injectable products that fill depleted facial features and help stimulate collagen growth. After one round of dermal fillers, you can expect the facial skin to have a radiant, youthful glow.

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles then have to work closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent. Dermal Fillers can completely reverse the appearance of lines and wrinkles while giving the skin a fuller, more plump appearance.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are popular injectable gels that are a safe and fast way to bring back the volume and fullness your face has lost. These fillers restore the skin by either rebuilding natural collagen that breaks down over time or placing hyaluronic acid in specific areas to improve overall shape and youthfulness.

Dr. Sheila Nazarian offers a variety of different dermal fillers, including Juvederm®, Juvederm® Plus, VOLUMA®, Perlane®, Prevelle Silk®, Restylane Silk®, and Sculptra®. During your consultation, Dr. Sheila Nazarian will discuss your options, and together you will determine the best dermal filler to achieve your results.

How the Procedure Works

Dermal fillers are a highly effective non-surgical cosmetic treatment that will plump up fine lines and wrinkles, leaving you with a restored, more youthful appearance. This treatment has no downtime and a speedy recovery process. However, patients must know what to expect before, during, and after their treatment to ensure a comfortable process from start to finish.

Before & Preparation

  • Plan your injections at least two weeks before an event to allow for healing.
  • Stop taking blood-thinning medication such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Motrin at least two weeks before your treatment.
  • Stop herbal medications and herbal teas two weeks before your treatment, including green tea and ginseng.
  • Avoid taking a high dose of Vitamin E or any other high dose of vitamins at least two weeks before your procedure.
  • On the day of the procedure, what you eat or don't eat depends on if your surgery is awake or asleep. For awake cases, you can have a nutritious breakfast without needing to fast. For asleep cases using general anesthesia, you may not eat or drink anything after midnight unless specifically told otherwise by your anesthesiologist.
  • If you tend to be sensitive to pain or needles, you can purchase Zensa on TheSkinSpot.com and apply it to the treatment area 30 minutes before your treatment time.
  • We can also provide you with a topical anesthetic to reduce pain in the area on the day of your procedure.
  • Products that can reduce downtime are our compounded Arnica, Bromelain, and Vitamin K capsules, Ocumend patches, and Inhance cream available under the bruising category on TheSkinSpot.com.

During the Procedure

  • Your facial appearance and skin tone will be evaluated, and the areas that will be augmented will be examined.
  • Photographs of procedure areas may be taken.
  • Marks may be drawn on the skin to determine points of entry.
  • The injection sites will be cleansed, and an anesthetic ointment may be applied to numb the area.
  • Injections and light massaging continue until desired results are achieved.
  • Most procedures last from fifteen minutes to one hour.
  • Markings will be cleansed off, and an ice pack may be given to you to help reduce any tenderness or swelling.

Aftercare & Recovery

  • You can resume most activities right away.
  • Avoid strenuous physical activity for 24-48 hours to help reduce swelling and bruising.
  • You may experience an overfilled look to treated areas.
  • Temporary numbness and swelling are normal.
  • You may experience hardness or lumps at the injection sites.
  • Most side effects will subside on their own within a few hours to a few days.
  • Sleep on your back with your head elevated to reduce swelling and avoid irritating the treatment areas.

Dermal Filler Reviews

“To simply put it - there is no one better than Dr. Nazarian. She is so personable and the office has GREAT customer service. I came in to get lip filler (simple appointment, I know) but I was nervous because it was my first time adding filler to my face. The whole staff made me feel comfortable and kept repeating how great I am going to look afterwards which made me feel better/more confident about the procedure. Also, she includes a complimentary touch up appointment after your first injection date - I ended up going back to add a touch more and I am THRILLED by the results. Truly the best, I don't even write Yelp reviews and I feel like I have too because of how smooth the experience was.”
Julianna B.
Marina del Rey, CA

“I'm a huge fan of Dr. Nazarian and her whole staff! I recently had my hands rejuvenated in her office and they look amazing! They removed the age spots and then injected a filler. Before my hands had lots of spots and had prominent veins. Now they look like my hands years ago!”

North Hollywood, CA

“After having a facelift procedure elsewhere years ago, I felt asymmetric. I went to Dr. Nazarian hoping for an improvement. Luckily, she was able to straighten me out and more! She used some botox to even out my eyebrows. She injected filler in my cheeks and temples to make me look younger and more symmetric. I was so afraid to look unnatural and weird but I couldn't be happier. Customer for life!”

We do not accept any type of insurance at our practice, however we do accept financing options through third party providers, Care Credit and LendingUSA both which offer 0% interest for up to 6 months!

Avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, facials, or facial massages. Do not sleep in the healing area or drink alcohol for at least one week. Only massage the treatment areas if you are instructed to do so by your practitioner.

It generally takes up to two weeks for your dermal fillers to settle into the facial tissue.

It is possible but rare for dermal fillers to migrate out of the procedure areas within the first few days of recovery. This results from the filler moving before fully bonding to the facial tissue. Your practitioner will monitor your results to watch for these changes.

Avoid touching your face completely for at least 6-8 hours post-treatment, as the risk of infection is much higher immediately after your treatment.

The injection sites will be cleaned when your injections are complete. Avoid washing your face for at least 8 hours. After 8 hours, you can cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser. Be sure to avoid placing pressure on your skin as you wash.

Drinking water is always a good idea post-treatment. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers like Juvederm use water that is naturally stored in the facial tissues. Staying hydrated will help maximize your dermal filler results.
